Causes of Urinary Incontinence

Urinary incontinence is NOT a natural part of a getting older. IT AFFECTS MILLIONS OF WOMEN OF ALL AGES, especially young and middle aged women after childbirth. The most common causes of urinary stress incontinence are:

  • Childbirth
  • Pelvic surgery
  • Menopause
  • Hormone deficiency
  • Weak muscle support the bladder

Consequences:

If you have stress incontinence, you might lose urine when you:

  • Cough, dance, sneeze, laugh
  • Do any exercise, run, jump
  • Lift anything heavy (groceries, young child)
  • Push anything heavy
  • Have sexual relations
